Tigers Send 25 To A & B Finals to Open Art Adamson

COLLEGE STATION, TEXAS – The LSU Swimming team opened the Art Adamson Invitational by sending 25 swimmers to the A & B Finals that will take place Wednesday night. Finals will begin at 6:00 p.m. CT from inside the Rec-Center Natatorium in College Station, Texas.

50-Yard Freestyle

For the men, Brooks Curry led the way by finishing in third place in the prelim with a time of 19.91. Jack Jannasch will also swim in the ‘A’ Final along with Curry, after finishing seventh with a time of 20.40. 

For the women, Katarina Milutinovich finished third with a time of 22.96 to qualify for the ‘A’ Final. Oliva Tyalor and Reagan Osborne also qualified for the ‘A’ Final by finishing in fourth and eighth place, respectively. Taylor touched the wall in 23.10 and Osborne in 23.71. Sarah-Grace Thompson, Brooke Boling, and Kit Hanley all qualified for the ‘B’ Final. Thompson and Boling finished 10th and 11th with times of 23.82 and 23.90. Hanley touched the wall in 24.11 to finish in 14th place. 

200-Yard IM

For the men, Emil Hassling qualified for the ‘A’ Final by finishing in eighth place in the prelim with a time of 1:49.23. Luca Pfyffer, David Boylan, and Mitchell Mason all qualified for the ‘B’ Final. Pfyffer finished in 11th place with a time of 1:50.59, Boylan in 12th place with a time of 1:51.62, and Mason in 13th with a time of 1:52.52.

For the women, Summer Stanfield swam the fastest prelim in the field, a 1:58.93, to qualify for the ‘A’ Final. Along with Stanfield, Hannah Bellina and Brittany Thompson finished in fourth and eighth place to also qualify for the ‘A’ Final. Emily Pye finished in 15th place with a time of 2:08.29 to qualify for the ‘B’ Final. 

500-Yard Freestyle

Brooks Curry qualified for his second ‘A’ Final of the day by finishing third in the prelim with a time of 4:24.14. Isak Vikstrom also made the ‘A’ Final after finishing in eighth place with a time of 4:28.46. Brian McGroarty, Mason Nyboer, and Braden Nyboer all qualified for the ‘B’ Final. McGroarty finished in 12th place with a time of 4:31.72, Mason and Braden then finished 15th and 16th with times of 4:35.06 and 4:37.78.

For the women, Jessica Pryne qualified for the ‘A’ Final after finishing in eighth place with a time of 4:56.97. Jolee Liles, Kit Hanley, Kylie Bennett, and Alyssa Helak all qualified for the ‘B’ Final. Liles finished in 10th place with a time of 4:57.72, Hanley in 12th place with a time of 4:59.13, Bennett in 13th place with a time of 4:59.23, and Helak in 14th place with a time of 5:00.22.
