Men’s Golf in 10th Place After 36 Holes at Blessings Collegiate
Fayetteville, Ark. – After rounds of 291 and 300 at the Blessings Collegiate Invitational, the LSU men’s golf team is in 10th place at 15-over 591 after 36 holes of play at the Blessings Golf Club.
Garrett Barber had the low round of the day for the Tigers on Tuesday with a 1-over 73 that featured two birdies, 13 pars and three bogeys. Barber is tied for 27th with a two-day total of 3-over 147 (74-73).
Connor Gaunt carded a 3-over 75 after an opening round of 1-over 73 and sits in a tie for 29th place with a total of 4-over 148. Trey Winstead (T20th/70-76), Nicholas Arcement (T35th/74-76) and Philip Barbaree (T39th/75-76) all shot 4-over 76s on Tuesday to wrap up day two of the tournament.
Alabama is the clubhouse leader at 3-under 573, and Kentucky’s Alex Goff is the individual low man at the moment with a 10-under 134. LSU’s men score (15-over 591) combined with the LSU women’s score of 10-over 586 has the LSU golf program in second place in the combined team standings. Arkansas, the host, has the lowest men’s/women’s combined team score with an 11-over 1,163.
LSU will tee off hole No. 10 at 8:36 a.m. CT on Wednesday morning for the third and final round. Live coverage on the Golf Channel will air from 2:30-6:30 p.m. CT.
