Selling Points

“We are feeling fortunate, excited, and ready for our first competition of the season,” co-head coach Michael Sell said. “We scheduled three extremely competitive fall tournaments and are thrilled for the team to be finally be in competition against other opponents.”

“We have full confidence and belief in them. They have put in great work on the court and, thanks to strength and fitness coach Renee Balconi, tremendous work off the court. This team is ready for any challenge and circumstance they face.”

Tiger Tidbits

LSU finished the shortened 2019-20 season 10-3 and ranked No. 21 in the ITA/Oracle Team Rankings. Senior Paris Corley returns for the new year after the NCAA granted athletes from spring sports an extra season of eligibility. Corley returns having led the Tigers with 17 singles wins last season, including an impressive eleven in fall tournaments.

Seniors Taylor Bridges, Eden Richardson, and Luba Vasilyuk join Corley in rounding out the senior class. Bridges compiled a 7-3 record in the dual season playing at the No. 1 singles spot for the Tigers, while Richardson finished 10-1 and on a team-high seven match win streak.

Sophomores Safiya Carrington, Maggie Cubitt, and Nina Geissler all return to action for their second season in Purple & Gold. The trio combined for 35 singles wins in their freshman year and will look to build upon that.
