Tiger Life Announces SAAC Members for 2020-21
BATON ROUGE – The LSU Tiger Life program announced today the members of the Student-Athlete Advisory Committee, highlighting student-athletes from all LSU sports.
The Student-Athlete Advisory Committee serves as a medium of communication through which student-athletes, Southeastern Conference administrators, institutional representatives, and coaches discuss and take action on issues relating to rules governance, student-athlete welfare, community service initiatives and diversity and inclusion.
“I am very excited to serve as Co-President of SAAC this year,” said Atkins. “I believe we have a great opportunity to impact, not only LSU student-athletes, but the local community as well. I look forward to working with our amazing committee to accomplish the goals we have set for this year.”
“I am elated to have the opportunity to serve the entire student-athlete body at LSU,” said Hanley. “As a member of a big team, I’ve always strived to be someone that my teammates can go to, trust and help communicate their message or needs. This year we’re determined to make an even greater impact on the LSU community and want everyone’s voice to be heard.”
SAAC is committed to making each student-athlete’s athletic and academic experience the best that it can possibly be. The committee will initiate projects to help cultivate a tighter-knit student-athlete community as well as coordinate support for the Baton Rouge and LSU communities.
Soccer’s Courtney Henderson will take over Vice President duties, while softball’s Taryn Antoine will take on the Community Engagement Executive Office role. Track & Field’s Julia Palin will be the Communications Executive Officer and Lexi Daniels will assume the Events Executive Officer duties.
“I am excited about the experience and passion that our SAAC executive board brings,” said Courtney Randall, Director of Tiger Life. “I am even more excited to have representation from every sport for this year’s group. SAAC is determined to provide an unmatched experience for LSU student-athletes and I can’t wait to see the group excel this academic year.”
