Men’s Tennis Earns ITA Academic Recognition

BATON ROUGE— The LSU men’s tennis team was recognized both as a team and individually for the 2020 Division 1 ITA All-Academic team and for Men Scholar-Athlete awards, the Intercollegiate Tennis Association announced.

The requirements for the All-Academic team was achieving a GPA of at least 3.2 for the current academic year. The Tigers eclipsed this, averaging a 3.56 GPA.

Individually, two Tigers were recognized as ITA Scholar-Athletes. Spring Graduate Ruy Teixeira and junior Nick Watson were the two representatives for LSU. To qualify, student-athletes must have finished the 2019-20 academic year with a 3.5 or above GPA.
