Gorsuch Named to SEC Community Service Team

BATON ROUGE – Senior pitcher Maribeth Gorsuch was named to the 2020 SEC Community Service Team, the league announced Wednesday morning.

The SEC sponsors Community Service Teams for all 21 league sponsored sports. The Community Service Team looks to highlight an athlete from each school who gives back to their community in superior service efforts.

Gorsuch has recorded over 66 hours in community service. She has been heavily involved in the community volunteering at youth softball practices and games. She has organized weekly bingo afternoons at local retirement homes and coordinates fashions for the senior residence as well.

Every year, Gorsuch participates in LSU’s annual BOOzar, handing out candy on sorority row on campus. She coordinated the team’s participation in the Angel Tree Toy Drive and shared meals with our Friends of Jaclyn adoptee and her friends. During the fall, Gorsuch volunteered at the local children’s museum during the fall.
