Tuxen, Vazquez Bas Qualify for NCAA’s on Platform

Dallas – LSU divers Anne Tuxen and Manny Vazquez Bas both qualified for the 2020 NCAA Swimming and Diving Championships with their performances on platform on the final day of the 2020 NCAA Zone D Diving Regional.

Tuxen finished in ninth place on the women’s side with a total score of 500.00. She dove to a score of 235.50 in the prelims before scoring a 264.50 in the final to qualify for NCAA’s. Along with the platform, Tuxen will also compete on the three-meter springboard in Athens, Georgia at the NCAA Championships.

Vazquez Bas finished in third place on men’s platform with a score of 729.40. The freshman dove to a score of 377.40 in the prelim and a 352.00 in the final to earn his second NCAA bid. He will also compete on three-meter at the NCAA Championships in Indianapolis.

Also for the Tigers, Dakota Hurbis finished in 16th place with a score of 528.40. He dove to a prelim score of 266.50 and final score of 261.90. For the women, Hayley Montague finished in 17th place with a score of 416.70. She dove to a score of 208.40 in the prelim and a score of 208.30 in the final.

The Tigers will be back in action on Wednesday, March 18 when the Lady Tigers head to Athens, Georgia for the 2020 NCAA Championships. For the men, their NCAA Championships will begin the following week, March 25, in Indianapolis, Indiana.
