Montreal – LSU diver Juan Celaya-Hernandez and his partner Yahel Castillo competed for the first time on the international stage in 2020 in Montreal, Canada as part of the FINA Diving World Series. Celaya-Hernandez and Castillo finished in third place on Three-Meter Synchro with a score of 407.22, 25 points over the next closest pair.

“The FINA World Series events are invitation only to the best international divers,” said LSU head diving coach Doug Shaffer. “Juan and Yahel’s performance today along with their performance at this past world championships solidifies the fact that they are medal contenders in the three-meter synchro for the Tokyo Olympics.”
Celaya-Hernandez will be back in action tomorrow competing individually on the three-meter springboard.
