AUBURN, ALA. – The LSU Swimming Team completed day one of the Auburn Invitational in what was a day full of best times, highlighted by a victory in the 200-Yard IM by Maddie Clifton. The Tigers will be back in action tomorrow morning at 10:00 a.m. CT to take part in Saturday’s Prelims.
IN THE POOL
500-Yard Freestyle
For the women, Johannah Cangelosi touched the wall seventh with a career best of 5:00.79. Kylie Bennett finished ninth with a time of 5:01.54. On the men’s side, Braden Nyboer finished 12th with a time of 4:36.89.
200-Yard IM
Clifton earned the gold medal, winning the event with a career best time of 2:00.77. Emily Pye finished ninth with a time of 2:06.93. Isabella Buttaci and Abigail Baumgartner placed 16th and 17th with times of 2:17.04 and 2:17.13.
50-Yard Freestyle
On the women’s side, Ellen Pack touched the wall 15th with a time of 24.10. Katie Smith finished 16th with a time of 24.18. Thomas Roark touched fourth with a career best time of 20.63.
