BATON ROUGE – LSU swimmer Katarina Milutinovich and diver Aimee Wilson have been named SEC Freshman of the Week and SEC Female Diver of the Week, the league announced on Tuesday.
Milutinovich notched two individual wins in the tri-meet against Houston and Rice as she won the 100 and the 200-Yard Freestyle with times of 50.13 and 1:49.05. This marked the second time in Milutinovich’s career that she won both the 100 and 200-Yard Freestyle at the same meet as she did so at the SMU Invitational in November. She swam the first leg of the winning 400-Yard Freestyle Relay team that touched the wall in 3:24.33. On Saturday for time trials, Milutinovich swam the 100-Yard Back in 53.75, which propelled her to number seven on the LSU All-Time list. This is the second time Milutinovich has been named SEC Freshman of the Week this season.
Also against Houston and Rice, Wilson won all three boards. She scored a new career high on three-meter with a 387.38, which also improves her ranking as the second highest three-meter score in LSU history. She won the one-meter with a new season high score of 328.58 and the platform for the first time this season, and the second time in her career with a score of 258.75. This is the fifth time in Wilson’s career she has been named SEC Diver of the Week and the fourth time this season.
The Tigers will be back in action Friday, February 7 through Sunday, February 9 as they head to Auburn to take part in the Auburn Invitational.
