Strength Coach Greg Goldin Guests At Feb. Tipoff Luncheon
Coach Wade Talks Tiger Basketball At L'Auberge
BATON ROUGE – The February edition of the Tipoff Luncheon with Coach Will Wade presented by UPS will be held this coming Thursday (Feb. 6) at the L’Auberge Hotel and Casino Baton Rouge.
LSU Basketball Strength and Conditioning Coordinator Greg Goldin will be the guest speaker at this month’s luncheon.
Coach Will Wade will discuss the first half of the Southeastern Conference season and look forward to the challenges awaiting the Tiger in the final month of the season. The monthly gatherings for good food and basketball conversation are open to the public.
Goldin has been a part of Coach Wade’s staff at Chattanooga, VCU and now in his third year at LSU. He has become well known for his efforts to integrate technological advancements in player wellness analytics, as well as devising a strength and conditioning routine to suit Coach Wade’s aggressive style of play. Measuring and managing wear and tear on the body, as well as giving clues about potential issues off the court has been part of the program Goldin has developed in putting together conditioning programs under Coach Wade.
Goldin believes that performance-monitoring technology is becoming more mainstream for college teams. He uses it as an educational tool to help athletes learn to take care of their bodies and to help coaches learn what they’re doing to an athlete’s body.
The event will be held at the Bon Temps Buffet. The Buffet (open to those 21 and older) is available at 11:30 a.m. and the program begins at 12:10 p.m. The all-you-can-eat buffet ($16.95) is located on the ground floor of the hotel in the casino area.
