Burns Finishes Tied for Sixth at The American Express Tournament

Baton Rouge, La. – Former LSU men’s golfer Sam Burns registered his sixth-career top-10 finish on the PGA Tour over the weekend at The American Express tournament in La Quinta, Calif., at PGA West.

Burns finished the tournament with a four-round tally of 19-under 269 that was highlighted by a final round 9-under 63 that featured nine birdies and nine pars. His final round 63 was tied for the lowest round of the day, and it marked a career low for Burns on the PGA Tour. All four rounds he played during the tournament were under par with a 71 (-1) on Thursday, 68 (-4) on Friday, and 67 (-5) on Saturday before he carded the 63 (-9) on Sunday. It was the first top-10 finish on the PGA Tour for Burns during the 2019-20 season.
