Hudson Announces Spring Schedule, Camp Dates

Baton Rouge, La. – LSU soccer head coach Sian Hudson has announced the spring slate for the Tigers that will feature five friendlies against some familiar foes.

2020 Spring Schedule | Spring ID Camps

“Our staff is excited to get on the field and begin the process of implementing our core values and playing style with the team,” Hudson said. “Our training will be focused on instilling a competitive spirit and a detail oriented focus on changing our style of play. There will be a heavy emphasis on growing connections with one another as we look to build trust on and off the field. We want our players to show up every day with the mindset of getting better individually and collectively as a group.”

The Tigers opened up spring training on Wednesday, Jan. 15, at the LSU Soccer Stadium on a beautiful day that featured temperatures in the 70s. LSU’s first contest of the spring against an opponent will come on Feb. 29 as the Tigers take on Texas Tech in Bossier City, La., at the First Bossier Complex.

The only scrimmage in the month of March will take place right here in Baton Rouge against Louisiana-Lafayette at LSU Soccer Stadium on March 14. The Tigers will close out the spring with three friendlies in April; the first two will be on the road with the Tigers travelling to College Station to battle against Texas A&M on April 5 before taking a trip to Oxford for a match against Ole Miss on April 18. The Tigers will close out the spring exhibition schedule with a home match against Southern Miss on April 25.

Times for all five exhibition matches this spring have yet to be determined. Once a time is agreed upon, it will be updated on lsusports.net.

LSU will also host two ID camps during the spring (Feb. 8-9 & April 25-26). It will give female prospective student-athletes an opportunity to engage in a competitive environment while working directly with the LSU soccer staff. The camp is open to current high school players and eligible college transfers. More info on the ID camps can be found at lsusports.net.
