Gymnastics Opens SEC Schedule on the Road
ATHENS, Ga. – The seventh-ranked LSU gymnastics team (1-0) will open its 2020 SEC schedule against No. 12 Georgia at 6:30 p.m. CT Friday inside Stegeman Coliseum
The meet will be televised live on the SEC Network with Bart Conner and Kathy Johnson Clarke on the call. First vault is set for 6:35 p.m.
Breaux Previews the SEC Road Meet
“This is a really good opportunity to get on the road and compete in a big-time atmosphere,” gymnastics co-head coach D-D Breaux said. “The season opener last week showed us that this team has fight and they will never back down. They responded and I am excited to see how they compete on Friday.”
Last Time Out
The Tigers opened 2020 with a win over Arizona inside the Maravich Center. Senior Kennedi Edney led the way for the squad with the all-around victory. Freshman Kiya Johnson made her debut with a 9.90 on vault and 9.95 on floor. Junior Reagan Campbell anchored the Tigers’ beam lineup with a 9.925.
A Series Look
LSU is 37-71-2 overall against Georgia. The Tigers own a record of 5-22 record against the Bulldogs in Athens. LSU is on a 13-meet win streak against UGA, a streak that dates back to the 2016 season. In the last trip to Athens in 2018, the squad earned a score of 197.575 for the highest at Georgia in a regular season meet.
