Tuxen Qualifies for Three-Meter Final, Finishes in 12th Place

KNOXVILLE, TENN. – LSU diver Anne Tuxen qualified for the final, and finished in 12th place on the three-meter springboard on day two of the Tennessee Diving Invitational in Knoxville, Tennessee. The invitational will conclude with platform competition Sunday at 10 a.m. CT.

Tuxen dove to a score of 294.75 in the prelims to finish in eighth place and qualify for the three-meter final that immediately followed. Her prelim score currently sits as the third best score of the season for the talented freshman out of Norway. Also for the women, Hayley Montague finished in 15th place with a score of 275.50 – just missing out on making the final as the top-12 advance on the springboard events.

For the men, Dakota Hurbis finished in 15th place on one-meter with a score of 276.20 and Manny Vazquez Bas dove to a score of 240.50 to finish in 27th place.

“Today we did not capitalize on a number of opportunities and consequently performed below our potential,” said LSU head diving coach Doug Shaffer. “The good news is that this is a process and this is the time to make these mistakes. We will continue to learn and get better.”
