Tuxen Earns Bronze on Platform on Day Three in Auburn

AUBURN, ALA. – LSU divers Anne Tuxen and Hayley Montague finished in third and 10th place on the women’s platform with scores of 254.50 and 216.55 on the third day of the Auburn Diving Invitational. There was no preliminary round for the platform. Tuxen’s score of 254.50 is 3.65 points higher than her 2019-20 season best score of 250.85 at the Art Adamson Invitational at Texas A&M.

Manny Vazquez Bas and Dakota Hurbis finished in fifth and 11th place in the men’s three-meter final with scores of 362.60 and 294.45. Vazquez Bas dove to a score of 331.60 in the prelims to qualify for the finals. His finals score of 362.60 sits as the second best score on three-meter in his young career. Hurbis dove to a score of 298.55 in the prelims to qualify for the finals.

“We’re making some good progress on platform but it is a process,” said LSU head diving coach Doug Shaffer. “We still have a lot of opportunities ahead of us to keep improving. It is a good field of competition this week and we have competed well with one day remaining.”

The invitational will conclude tomorrow as Vazquez Bas and Hurbis will compete on the platform, putting a bow on the 2019 portion of the schedule for the Tigers.
