AUBURN, ALA. – Hayley Montague and Anne Tuxen finished in seventh and 10th place in the one-meter final with scores of 272.20 and 256.25 on the first day of the Auburn Diving Invitational. The event continues tomorrow and will conclude on Thursday, closing out the 2019 portion of the schedule for the Tigers.
Montague dove to a score of 251.25 in the prelims to qualify for the finals. Her score of 272.20 in the finals is only 0.15 points away from her career best on one-meter. Tuxen dove to a prelim score of 250.25 to reach the finals. Tuxen has finished in the top-ten in very event she has competed on this season.
“I am very happy with day one,” said LSU head diving coach Doug Shaffer. “Both Hayley and Anne made it to the top-16, then turned around and bettered their scores in the final.”
