2020 LSU Track & Field Schedule Features 19 Meets

Baton Rouge, La. – The LSU track and field schedule for 2020 is set. The Tigers’ 2020 season will run from January to June at meets across the country. January to mid-March will be indoor season, and mid-March to middle of June will be outdoors.

Full 2020 Schedule

The 2020 slate features trips to eight states outside of Louisiana including the likes of Massachusetts, Kentucky, Arkansas, Florida, Alabama, Texas, New Mexico and Arizona.

The Tigers will compete at home five times, twice indoors and three times outdoors, during the 2020 season. The first chance to see the Tigers in action at home will be Friday Jan. 10 at the Purple Tiger Invitational that will be hosted at the Carl Maddox Fieldhouse. LSU will close out its home indoor schedule on Friday Feb. 21 with the LSU Twilight in a tune-up for the SEC Championships the following week. LSU will host its usual three home meets outdoors at Bernie Moore Track Stadium with the Battle on the Bayou (April 4), LSU Alumni Gold (April 25), and LSU Invitational (May 2).

There will be five postseason meets for LSU on the schedule in 2020. Both the indoor and outdoor SEC Championships will take place in College Station, Texas. Indoors will be Feb. 28-29, and the outdoor meet will run May 14-16. The NCAA Indoor Championships will be hosted at altitude March 13-14 in Albuquerque, N.M., at the Albuquerque Convention Center. The NCAA East Preliminaries will return to Lexington, Ky., May 28-30 at the UK Track & Field Complex. Those who qualify from that meet will compete at the NCAA Championships June 10-13 at the Mike A. Myers Stadium in Austin, Texas.

The indoor slate will feature a total of eight regular season meets before the postseason begins. Outdoors, the Tigers will be in action seven times in the regular season before the postseason begins. Indoor meets on the road will be the Corky Classic (Jan. 18/Lubbock, Texas), MLK Collegiate Invitational (Jan. 24-25/Albuquerque, N.M.), Razorback Invitational (Jan. 31-Feb. 1/Fayetteville, Ark.), David Hemery Valentine Invitational (Feb. 15/Boston, Mass.), Tyson Invitational (Feb. 14-15/Fayetteville, Ark.), and the Alex Wilson Invitational (Feb. 22/South Bend, Ind.).

On the outdoor circuit away meets will see the Tigers feature at Baldy Castillo Invitational (March 20-21/Tempe. Ariz.), Texas Relays (March 26-28/Austin, Texas), Crimson Tide Invitational (April 10-11/Tuscaloosa, Ala.), and the Tom Jones Memorial (April 17-18/Gainesville, Fla.).
