BATON ROUGE – The LSU Basketball program is asking all former Tiger basketball players and staff to save the dates of Jan. 31 and Feb. 1, 2020 to join Alumni Weekend activities as LSU hosts Ole Miss at the Pete Maravich Assembly Center.
Speaking of Pete Maravich, Alumni Weekend will mark the 50th anniversary of the game against the same Ole Miss team on Jan. 31, 1970 when Maravich became the NCAA’s all-time Division I career scorer when he broke Oscar Robertson’s record for most points in a career. It was part of a historic two games for the All-American and Naismith Basketball Hall of Famer as he topped 3,000 career points in his next game on Feb. 2.
There will be an Alumni Dinner on Jan. 31 with the game with Ole Miss scheduled for 11 a.m. on Feb. 1.
More information on the weekend will be announced in the weeks to come. Basketball alums are asked to contact Brittany Carvalhido at the LSU Basketball Office at bfd1@lsu.edu.
