BATON ROUGE – On Sunday, Dec. 8, more than 3,500 runners, joggers and walkers will #RaceToDeathValley and celebrate the historic football season that LSU has been having. With the SEC Championship game on Saturday and the postseason playoff announcement scheduled for Sunday (11 a.m.-3 p.m.), there is plenty to celebrate.
The Tiger10K event includes a 10K, 5K and Kids 1-mile run, all of which take participants through a scenic tour of the LSU campus as they pass many of its landmarks including the University Lakes, Sorority Row, the Parade Grounds, the Bell Tower, and the Indian Mounds all before finishing in the shadows of Tiger Stadium.
Upon crossing the Finish Line all participants will be awarded a commemorative finishers medal featuring the classic Mike the Tiger logo that adorns the football helmets and have a chance to touch the “WIN” bar.
Following the race, participants can enjoy the festive post-race party which will feature food from several local restaurants, beverages from Mockler Budweiser and Coca Cola of Baton Rouge, and live entertainment by blues artist Jonathan Long.
LSU Athletics will provide a mobile big-screen TV at the event so participants can learn the details of LSU Football’s postseason destination, and view highlights from the Tigers’ epic year.
This year’s event will again feature licensed gear in our gear store as well as the “WIN” bar for your perfect finish photo. Spots for the 10k, 5k, and kids mile are still available at www.Tiger10K.com.
