Women’s Tennis Earns Perfect GSR

BATON ROUGE – The LSU women’s tennis team posted a perfect score of 100 in the latest Graduation Success Rate released by the NCAA on Tuesday, October 29.

The women’s tennis team was one of six sports to have had a perfect score, joined alongside men’s tennis, men’s swimming and diving, softball, women’s golf, and volleyball.

“To be a champion in life, you need to take pride in all aspects of your life,” co-head coach Michael Sell said. “We are truly proud of our student-athletes for achieving high levels on the court, as well as excelling in the classroom and earning their degrees.”

Spring 2019 saw two-year letter winner Kennan Johnson and 2018 doubles national champion Jessica Golovin earn their bachelor’s degrees in Kinesiology.

“The success garnered by our student-athletes is the direct result of the collective impact of all,” LSU Assistant Vice Chancellor of Academic Affairs and Executive Director of the Cox Communications Academic Center for Student-Athletes Kenneth Miles said. “The culture, expectation, involvement, and inclusiveness help the Cox Communications Academic Center for Student-Athletes achieve success. Academic affairs, the Tiger Athletics Foundation, and athletics administration are essential to achieving 89 percent graduation success rate. We are certainly proud of the accomplishments of our scholar–athletes. Once a Tiger, always a Tiger.”

In addition to the perfect GSR, the spring saw seven Tigers earn a 3.0 semester GPA. Senior Paris Corley, juniors Eden Richardson, Luba Vasilyuk, Ashton Rabalais, and sophomore Anna Loughlan were joined by former Tigers Marina Hermanny de Figueirido and Kennan Johnson.
