Stone Named AJGA Rolex Junior All-American

BATON ROUGE – LSU freshman Latanna Stone was named a Rolex Junior All-American by the American Junior Golf Association on Monday morning. Stone is one of 48 women recognized on the 2019 team.

This is Stone’s second Rolex Junior All-American honor, on the honorable mention list this season, after a solid Juniors season in 2019. The Riverview, Florida, native played in four AJGA Invitationals with a top-nine finish at the ANA Junior Inspiration. She also was the runner-up at the Dustin Johnson World Junior Championship.

Stone has made an immediate impact on the Tigers women’s golf team early in her collegiate rookie season. She is second on the team with a 71.67 stroke average through the first two tournaments of 2019-20. Her low round of the season so far is a 1-under 69 from the second round of the Princess Anne Invitational on October 5 and has shot par or under in 50 percent of her rounds.

LSU, under the direction of second-year head coach Garrett Runion, is currently No. 18 in the country following back-to-back wins at the Princess Anne Invitational and Magnolia Invitational in October.
