Men's Basketball in Preseason AP Poll

BATON ROUGE – The LSU men’s basketball team was ranked No. 22 in the 2019-20 preseason Associated Press media poll announced on Monday.

LSU was ranked in the top 25 by 47-of-the-65 voters who voted in the poll.

The Tigers open the 2019-20 season on Nov. 8 against Bowling Green in the Maravich Center. Season tickets remain on sale at LSUtix.net and at the LSU Athletics Ticket Office.

Four Southeastern Conference teams are ranked in the opening poll with Kentucky at No. 2, Florida at No. 6 and Auburn at No. 24.

Two early season LSU opponents are also ranked with VCU at Nov. 25 (Nov. 13 in Richmond) and Utah State at No. 17 (Nov. 22 in Jamaica). SEC teams receiving votes include Tennessee, Missouri, Mississippi State and Alabama.

Two other December LSU opponents, Southern Cal and Liberty, are also ranked.

This marks the 211th time LSU has been ranked in the AP poll and the ranking is the tenth straight dating back to the final nine AP polls of last season. That ties for the seventh longest consecutive ranking streak for LSU in the history of the poll.
