Thomas/Moreno Advance To Doubles Semifinals

Auburn, Alabama— The duo of junior Joey Thomas and sophomore Daniel Moreno advanced to the doubles semifinals this Sunday in Auburn, Alabama

The 5th seeded Thomas and Moreno faced off against Ole Miss in the quarterfinals. They continued what they’ve done all weekend and won the match 8-6.

The Tigers won both of their consolation matches in singles as well. Junior Malik Bhatnagar bounced back from Saturday’s loss and took on Mississippi State. He dropped the first set but won the second 6-3, pushing the match to a tiebreak. He dominated the tiebreak, winning it 10-1. The final was 4-6, 6-3, 1-0(1). Sophomore Boris Kozlov made quick work of his consolation match against Ole Miss, winning 6-1, 6-3.

Thomas and Moreno compete in the semifinals against South Alabama Monday afternoon with a chance to move onto the finals.
