The Tigers came out and nearly nabbed an early lead in the first minute of play. Chiara Ritchie-Williams played a beautiful ball down the left side of the pitch to freshman Maddie Moreau. Moreau chested the ball down and beat her defender to the endline and sent in a ground cross right through the six. The ground cross made it all the way to the far side of the box where Molly Thompson’s left-footed shot from eight yards out was saved. It resulted in LSU’s first corner of the match and Courtney Henderson headed the corner over the net.

Emma Grace Goldman made two of her eight saves in the first half and the matched stayed even at nil-nil until the 42nd minute when Alabama’s Taylor Morgan put one in the back of the net to give the Crimson Tide the lead. Alabama struck shortly after when they scored in the 45th minute with just 20 seconds remaining in the half; Kat Rogers was credited with the goal.

Goldman had a solid six saves in the second half and held Alabama scoreless until they added their final goal of the day in the 88th minute. Macy Clem scored the final goal for Alabama in the 88th minute. Alabama outshot the Tigers 20-3 during the contest.
