Carrington began her singles campaign by facing off against Oklahoma’s Camila Romero. Carrington showed her strength in the first set by dominating on her way to a 6-1 victory. The second set had Carrington and Romero trading games back and forth before Carrington was able to pull away and win the set by a score of 6-4 to advance.

Junior Taylor Bridges began her fall campaign competing against Natsuho Arakawa of Washington. Arakawa was victorious in the first set by a score of 6-4 before Bridges swung momentum and won the second set, 7-5, to force the decisive third set. Carrington’s second round matchup was against Arkansas’ Jackie Carr. Carrington kept form from a strong first match, blanking Carr on her way to winning the first set 6-0. The second set was a similar story, with Carrington winning 6-1 to advance to the next round.

Bridges took on Princeton’s Brianna Shvets in her second round matchup. Shvets and Bridges contested a close first set, with Shvets able to narrowly take the first set by a score of 7-5. Shvets kept her form in the second set, winning 6-3 to advance rounds.
