Beach to Hold Kids Clinic and Scrimmage Friday

BATON ROUGE – The LSU Beach Volleyball team will compete in a round-robin intrasquad scrimmage on Friday evening, following an open practice and kids clinic at LSU Beach Volleyball Stadium.

The practice will kick off at 4:30 p.m. CT, followed by a free kids clinic at 6 p.m. The evening will close with a team scrimmage, beginning at 7 p.m. Fans are welcome to come watch practice leading into the clinic and scrimmage.

“We’ve been really excited about the training we’ve been doing,” said head coach Russell Brock who is entering his fourth year at the helm. “This is the next part of the progression. To do it under the lights is a lot of fun and to do it in the stadium and have people there to watch allows us to add to the feel of competition. It will bring out what we have been working on and allow us to see what we need to continue to do to get better.”

The Tigers have been one of the top teams in the nation over the past few seasons, earning trips to NCAA Championships in each of the past three years. In the spring, LSU had a program record 31 victories and finished as the No. 3 team in the nation, marking the highest finish in the team’s six-year history.

In preparation of the 2020 season, the Tigers have four competition dates this fall, including one at both of their postseason destinations in Huntsville and Gulf Shores, Alabama.

The other two events will be in Louisiana, November 9-10. LSU will travel to White Sands Beach Volleyball in Elmwood on the ninth, hosted by Tulane. LSU will host the event on the 10th at LSU Beach Volleyball Stadium.
