Caffo Named First-Team AVCA High School All-American

BATON ROUGE – Freshman Sierra Caffo on the LSU Beach Volleyball team was named to the First-Team AVCA High School All-America squad on Wednesday.

“We are so excited for Sierra,” said head coach Russell Brock. “She has worked hard and proven that she is one of the best junior players in the country. It is already clear that she isn’t willing to rest on the success she’s had up until this point and is working hard to be even better at the college level. We can’t wait to see what she does in the purple and gold.”

Caffo becomes the third LSU player to be named to the AVCA High School All-America team, joining current senior Claire Coppola and 2019 LSU graduate Ashley Allmer as the only Tigers to do so.

The San Diego native spent the summer competing in the sand where she compiled a 30-6 record. The summer was highlighted with a win at the AA CBVA Women’s Open on Ocean Beach in San Diego.

The 6-foot freshman also finished No. 3 at the 18U Gold Bracket AAU Championships on Hermosa Beach and 4th at the 18U USA Championships on Manhattan Beach.

During her indoor season with Point Loma High School, Caffo helped lead to a third place finish in the D1 CIF Playoffs.
