Celaya-Hernandez Claims Synchro Gold

Lima, Peru – Juan Celaya-Hernandez continued his run of success on the international stage by claiming another gold at the Pan American Games, this time on the three-meter synchro with partner Yahel Castillo.

Just two days after winning the One-Meter Springboard with a score of 435.60, Celaya-Hernandez and Castillo dove to a score of 429.81 to win by over 15 points.

“Juan is solidifying his mark on the international stage both individually and with synchro partner Yahel Castillo,” said LSU head diving coach Doug Shaffer. “It’s rewarding to see his hard work and focus pay off. These are promising indicators looking ahead to Tokyo.

Celaya-Hernandez will be back in action tonight competing in the Three-Meter Springboard final.
