Lima, Peru – Juan Celaya-Hernandez showed no signs of slowing down on the international stage as the calendars flipped from July to August. The current One-Meter SEC Champion claimed the gold medal on the One-Meter in Lima, Peru at the Pan American Games.
Just three weeks after Celaya-Hernandez took home the bronze medal in the Three-Meter Synchro Dive at World Championships with his partner Yahel Castillo, he dove to a score of 435.60 to take the top spot at the Pan American Games.

“I am so excited for Juan,” said LSU head diving coach Doug Shaffer. “He has worked so hard with such consistency and determination and the result is a Pan American Games gold medal. I couldn’t be prouder.”
Celaya-Hernandez will be back in action tomorrow competing on the Three-Meter Springboard as well as the Three-Meter Synchro.
