Edwards Jr. and Pedigo Win U20 Pan Am Titles

San Jose, Costa Rica – Two members of the LSU track and field program won titles at the U20 Pan American Championships on Friday and Saturday at the National Stadium while representing the United States.

Eric Edwards Jr., an incoming transfer from Oregon, claimed the title in the 110 meter hurdles on Friday night with a time of 13.11 to make him one of the fastest U20 hurdlers in world history.

Tzuriel Pedigo won the javelin on Saturday with a heave of 76.95 meters (252′ 5”) to claim the gold medal. Pedigo’s title was won on his sixth and final throw of the event as he bettered his prior best during the competition by over 4.50 meters.

Both Pedigo (outdoors only) and Edwards Jr. are national-caliber athletes and will have chances to score points on the national stage in 2020 at SEC and NCAA postseason meets.
