TEMPE, Ariz. – The LSU men’s tennis team was recognized in the 2019 ITA All-Academic Awards both as a team and individually, as announced on Thursday.
“These guys have put in a ton of on work on the court and in the classroom,” co-head coach Chris Brandi said. “It’s well deserved to be honored by the ITA.”
The Tigers earned All-Academic Team honors by boasting a team GPA above the 3.20 criteria, capping off a successful 2018-19 season athletically and academically.
Individually, four players qualified for the ITA Scholar-Athlete award. Senior Shane Monroe, sophomore Malik Bhatnagar, and freshmen Boris Kozlov and Nick Watson earned the prestigious accolade by earning a varsity letter and earning a GPA of 3.50 or higher during the 2018-19 academic year.
