Baton Rouge, La. – Mondo Duplantis was named the Men’s SEC Co-Field Athlete of the Week on Wednesday morning.
The freshman from Lafayette, La., cleared a school record and world leading height of 5.87 meters (19’ 3”) on Friday night at the Carl Maddox Field House. The clearance was the second-best in NCAA indoor history and he now only trails Shawn Barber of Akron.
He shared the award with Shelby McEwen of Alabama. This is the second career SEC award for Duplantis, and just yesterday, he was named the USTFCCCA Division I National Athlete of the Week.
