BATON ROUGE – The LSU gymnastics team (1-1, 0-1 SEC) is ranked fifth ahead of its match-up with No. 3 Florida, RoadtoNationals.com released.
The Tigers own an average score of 196.525 after two meets. The Gators earned a team score of 197.300 in their season opener on Friday against Missouri. This marks the 30th-straight weeks that LSU has been ranked in the top-25.
National rankings are based on a team’s overall season average for the first few weeks of the season before switching to the regional qualifying score (RQS).
In addition to the team rankings, LSU is also third on bars, sixth on floor, 10th on beam and 12th on vault.
Senior Sarah Finnegan is ranked fourth overall in the all-around with an average score of 39.575 and high of 39.675.
The Tigers will face off against the Gators on Friday night inside the Maravich Center. Intros begin at 7:40 p.m. CT and first vault is scheduled for 8:05 p.m. on the SEC Network.
