Dibildox and Braxton Represent LSU at SEC Career Tour

Baton Rouge, La. Monica Dibildox (women’s golf) and Dajour Braxton (track and field) are representing LSU at the 2018 SEC Career Tour, which began Tuesday in Atlanta and will run through Thursday.

Two student-athletes from each of the Southeastern Conference’s 14 institutions are scheduled to attend the event in front of future employers. The goal of the event is to connect student-athletes with employers in various professional fields. A couple of companies/organizations that will be present at the event are UPS, Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta, The Home Depot, the Atlanta Hawks and more. In addition to meeting with future employers, all 28 student-athletes will have the chance to attend presentations delivered by former SEC athletes that will include tips to help them in their job search once their eligibility is finished.

“When I chose to attend LSU, I knew that I would be presented with lots of opportunities for the future,” Dibildox mentioned. “I knew that I needed to work hard and do the right things at the right moment. This event is one of those moments – I’m thankful to be here, learn from business professionals and enhance my knowledge and professionalism. I’m always proud to represent LSU wherever I go.”

“It’s truly an honor to have the opportunity to represent LSU at the SEC Career Tour,” Braxton said. “Programs like the SEC Career Tour are integral in the development of student-athletes. The opportunity to participate in this even is one that could be advantageous as it pertains to achieving my future goals.”

Braxton and Dibildox are both majoring in sports administration. Dibildox has played in 17 total events during her three years in Baton Rouge and is currently averaging a career-best 73.22 strokes per round for the 2018-19 season. Braxton, now medically exempt from competition, was a standout for both the track & field and cross country programs. A two-time All-South Central Region honoree in cross country, Braxton was a member of the fastest distance medley relay in LSU history on the indoor track when he teamed up with his teammates to clock a time of 9:31.66.
