BATON ROUGE – After picking up two more victories over the weekend, senior Allie Walljasper was named SEC Co-Pitcher of the Week as announced by the league office Tuesday. Walljasper helped the Tigers to a series sweep of Arkansas in the final regular season games of the year. She picked up victories on Friday and Sunday, allowing nine hits on the weekend and finishing with a 0.50 earned run average. She allowed one earned run in 14 innings of work.
The Manteca, California native tallied 10 strikeouts and earned her sixth shutout of the year on Sunday. Walljasper held her opponents to a .180 batting average on the weekend.
It is her second SEC weekly honor of her career, earning her first early this season. The honor is the 24th SEC Pitcher of the Week honor in program history.
On the year, Walljasper is 15-4 on the year with a 1.00 earned run average. In 147.2 innings on the year, she has struck out 119 batters and holds her opponents to a .175 batting average. She owns six shutouts on the year and has pitched 13 complete games.
What’s On Deck
LSU will travel to Columbia, Missouri for the SEC Tournament. The Tigers open the tournament with Ole Miss on Wednesday, May 9 at 4 p.m. CT. The game will air live on SEC Network.
