EMERSON, Georgia – The fourth-seeded LSU beach volleyball team is ready to go at the CCSA Tournament held at Lakepoint Sporting Community Center, with pool-play schedule to go Friday-Saturday.
LSU is 22-10, 7-5 in CCSA play, and is heading into the tournament having won 15 of its last 16 matches. The Tigers have been ranked No. 8 in the AVCA coaches poll for the past three weeks.
“We have been building this season with the expectation to play really well down the stretch.” Said coach Russell Brock. “The next task is the CCSA Tournament. It’s loaded with talented, ranked teams and we are excited to test ourselves this weekend.”
The Tigers were slotted in Pool A along with No. 1 Florida State, No. 5 Georgia State, No. 8 Florida Atlantic and No. 9 UNC-Wilmington.
LSU will face each team in its pool, beginning on Friday against Georgia State at 9:30 a.m. CT and UNC-Wilmington at 12:30 p.m. The Tigers will take on Florida State on Saturday at 8 a.m. before closing out pool play at 12:30 p.m. against Florida Atlantic.
The top two teams from Pool A and Pool B will advance to the semifinals which will be held on Sunday morning. The CCSA Championship match will take place Sunday at Noon CT.
“It’s clear how important this weekend is for us to achieve our goals,” said Brock. “We aren’t going to hesitate as we attack that challenge. We are looking forward to the next three days.”
