Beach Volleyball Moves up to No. 8

BATON ROUGE –  After extending its home win-streak to 17 matches dating back to last season, the LSU beach volleyball team moved up two spots in both the AVCA and DiG Magazine poll to No. 8, announced Monday.

This is the 16th consecutive week the Tigers have been in the AVCA top-10.

Last weekend, LSU swept the LSU Beach Invitational advancing to 16-9 on the season. The Tigers defeated UAB, 15th-ranked Arizona, Texas A&M-Kingsville and Jacksonville State. LSU swept all of its matches except for Arizona, which it won 3-2. The Tigers won 15 courts this weekend in straight sets.

The Tigers will travel to Metarie, Louisiana April 7-8 to play in the Green Wave Invitational on Saturday and Sunday. LSU will finish its regular season the following weekend, April 14-15, as it will host the Battle on the Bayou.
