“We want to be better than we were last weekend,” said coach Russell Brock. “The smoother we get in our lineup, and our understanding in how we can be successful with our pairs, the more and more we should be able to translate that on the court with consistency.”
The Tigers (12-9) will play each team except TAMUCC (5-4) and UCA (4-1) this weekend. LSU will play double-headers on both Friday and Saturday.
LSU will open the LSU Beach Invitational on Friday against UAB (6-5) at noon CT before taking on Arizona at 4 p.m. On Saturday, the Tigers will face TAMUK at 1 p.m. and will close the weekend against JSU at 3 p.m.
The Tigers are a combined 9-2 all-time against its competition this weekend, having only been defeated by Arizona. LSU defeated JSU earlier this season at the Gamecock Grandslam with a 5-0 victory.
LSU has three more weekends of regular season matches before the CCSA Tournament begins. The Tigers are at home this weekend and will travel to Metairie, Louisiana next weekend to play in the Green Wave Invitational before returning home for the Battle on the Bayou to close out the regular season.
“To be at home and be able to train, play and recover, has put us in a better position to be successful and do what we need to do to continue to improve,” said Brock.
