BATON ROUGE – LSU gymnasts Myia Hambrick, Sarah Finnegan, Kennedi Edney and Lexie Priessman combined to earn a nation-best 14 National Associate of Collegiate Gymnastics Coaches/Women (NACGC/W) Regular Season All-America Honors after finishing in the top-16 of the final event rankings.
Hambrick earned the honor on all four events as well as the all around. Hambrick is just one of three gymnasts in the country to haul in five honors. The AAI Award finalist finished is the No. 1 performer on floor in 2018 and also ranked sixth on beam, seventh in the all-around, and 13th on bars and vault. Overall, Hambrick has totaled 17 All-America honors, which is tied with Ashleigh Gnat for the most in school history.
Finnegan collected four All-America honors after finishing in the top-eight of the rankings on bars, beam, floor, and all-around. The junior is one of three gymnasts in the country to finish in the top eight of four or more rankings. Finnegan finished as the nation’s top performer on bars and earned a perfect 10.0 on bars, beam and floor this season.
Edney wrapped up the regular season with four All-America honors. The sophomore in the top-16 of the rankings on vault, bars, floor and all-around. Priessman also finished No. 7 on bars for All-America honors.
Overall, LSU gymnasts have combined to earn 56 All-America honors in the regular season since the award’s inception in 2013. LSU has now totaled 225 regular season and meet honors in program history.
The second-ranked Tigers will take the weekend off for the first time this season before traveling to Raleigh, North Carolina for the NC State Regional at 3 p.m. CT on Saturday, April 7. The Tigers own the top seed, and the top two teams will advance to the NCAA Championships. The squad will take on Nebraska, Oregon State, George Washington, NC State and Maryland.
