BATON ROUGE – The 10th-ranked LSU softball team will finish up a five-game home stand Tuesday, playing host to Southern Miss at 6 p.m. CT in Tiger Park.

The Tigers lead the all-time series over Southern Miss 23-5. The two teams met earlier this year on Feb. 9 in the Tiger Classic and LSU claimed a 4-0 victory over the Golden Eagles.
About the Tigers
After a 3-1 weekend in the LSU Round Robin, the Tigers come into the weekend with an overall record of 26-5. The Tigers claimed wins over BYU (twice) and No. 13 Baylor and fell to North Dakota State on Saturday. Aliyah Andrews leads the offense with a .382 batting average. In the circle, the Tigers have a 1.14 ERA that ranks seventh in the nation. Allie Walljasper and Carley Hoover have combined for 183 strikeouts in 174 innings. The pitching staff is hold their opponents to a .172 batting average.

Southern Miss comes to Baton Rouge with a 14-20 record on the year. The Golden Eagles are coming off a three-game conference sweep of UTEP. Destini Brown leads the offense with a .384 mark. She also leads the team in runs scored (19) and stolen bases (12). In the circle, Kim Crowson leads the staff with a 3.18 ERA and a 6-6 record. In 68.1 innings, she has tallied 30 strikeouts. Samantha Robles leads the pitching staff in strikeouts with 63 in 97.1 innings.

Following the Southern Miss midweek contest, the Tigers will return to SEC action, traveling to Missouri for a doubleheader on Friday and a single game on Saturday. All three games will stream live on SEC Network+.
