Baton Rouge – After playing its first 16 matches away from home, the 10th-ranked LSU Beach Volleyball team will host the Tiger Beach Challenge this weekend, March 24-25, at Mango’s Beach Club. The Tigers will play host to the College of Charleston, No. 20 Florida Atlantic, New Orleans, Spring Hill College, No. 17 Stetson and No. 18. LSU will compete against every team except SHC.
Fans are encouraged to come out Saturday and Sunday to Mango’s Beach Club off of Sherwood Forrest in Baton Rouge where there will be free admission. On Saturday, fans will receive a sand spiker, a koozie that sticks in the sand, upon entering the venue.

“We can’t wait to play this weekend at home in front of our fans,” head coach Russell Brock said. “It’s been an intense season so far and we’ve had the opportunity to play against some amazing teams in great locations, but there’s just no place like home.”
LSU (7-9) will play in five matches this weekend, three of which will come against ranked competition. The Tigers will have a triple-header to begin the weekend on Saturday before finishing up on Sunday with a double-header.
The weekend will begin for the Tigers at 9 a.m. CT Saturday when they square off with No. 20 Florida Atlantic (10-8). LSU has the chance to even the all-time series with the Owls at three. The Tigers will play 17th-ranked Stetson (10-5) at noon before rounding off its Saturday at 4 p.m. against New Orleans (3-7)
LSU will open on Sunday against the College of Charleston (7-3) at 9 a.m. and will close its weekend at 2 p.m. versus No. 18 Tulane (9-3).
The Tigers are a combined 16-8 all-time against its competition this weekend.
“We have played well this season, but we are still looking for a weekend where we play at our most efficient and effective level in each and every match,” said Brock. “We are thrilled to push for that execution this weekend, and know that our home and our fans can help us in that effort!”
