BATON ROUGE, La.- The LSU beach volleyball team capped off its remarkable year after earning the highest ranking in school history, coming in at No. 6 in the final standings of the American Volleyball Coaches Association beach poll on Monday.
LSU finished its season with its best record since the program’s inception four years ago, compiling an overall record of 27-8.
The Tigers are fresh off of their first NCAA Championships appearance, where the team picked up its first win of the tournament against No. 7-ranked Long Beach State, 3-2.
This year, LSU won 10 matches against ranked opponents and also rattled off a 24-match winning streak during the season, marking the third longest in LSU athletics history.
