BATON ROUGE – LSU junior golfer Sydney Cavin was named the Lady Tigers representative on the SEC women’s golf community service team announced by the league office as part of its annual awards announcement.
Cavin, who hails from Baton Rouge, is one of 14 student-athletes from each school in the league named to the team for their work in the community.
Cavin joined many LSU athletes in helping with the victims of the devastating August 2016 floods, helping remove furniture and debris from people houses, including homes of LSU Athletic staff members. She also was involved in the LSU Boo-Zar which gives children a safe way to spend Halloween as teams prepare games and distribute candy to local children. She also as part of the team’s trip to the Schooner Fall Classic, assisted at the Oklahoma Kids Korral, the charity of tournament sponsor, country star Toby Keith.
