BATON ROUGE – Head coach Ed Orgeron and the Tiger football team will welcome LSU students to football practice on Thursday afternoon (April 20) in Tiger Stadium as the Tigers are set to conduct their final workout in advance of Saturday’s National L Club Spring Game presented by Tony Chachere’s.
The annual “LSU Student Day” at football practice gives LSU students an opportunity to tour the team’s gameday locker room in Tiger Stadium along with entering the Tiger Stadium the way the players do on a Saturday Night in Death Valley – through the chute with a touch of the “Win” bar as they exit the locker room.
The Tigers are scheduled to practice in shorts and helmets on Thursday from 4 p.m. until approximately 5:30. Once the Tigers are done with their practice, LSU students will get a chance to take the field in Tiger Stadium to participate in a Punt, Pass and Kick competition.
Any LSU student attending practice on Thursday can participate in the Punt, Pass and Kick competition. Registration for the Punt, Pass and Kick competition will be done as students enter the stadium. The top 5 individuals in each of the four categories (male and female student and male and female Greek life student) on Thursday will be invited back for the championship round prior to kickoff in Tiger Stadium on Saturday.
LSU students will have a chance to take the locker room tour, touch the “Win” bar and enter Death Valley through the chute from 3 to 4 p.m. on Thursday. To take part in the locker room tour, LSU students should enter the stadium at the Jeff Boss Locker Room entrance, which is located on the north side of Tiger Stadium next to the student entrance for gameday during the fall.
Students arriving after 4 p.m. will enter the stadium at the student gate, which is located at gate 7. Seating for the students during practice will be located on the west side of Tiger Stadium.
When practice is over, students will then be invited on to the field to take part in the Punt, Pass and Kick competition. The event wraps-up with a meet-and-greet and an autograph/selfie session with the players on the ground level under the west side of Tiger Stadium where the students will be treated to free jambalaya.
To be admitted to practice, students must present their LSU ID as they enter the Jeff Boss Locker Room or when they enter the student gate (gate 7).
Thursday’s practice will be the final one before LSU hosts the annual National L Club Spring Game presented by Tony Chachere’s at 7 p.m. CT on Saturday, April 22 in Tiger Stadium. Admission to the spring game is free.
