BATON ROUGE —After seven weeks of conference action, the 2016 Southeastern Conference Women’s Tennis Tournament bracket has been set. The tournament will take place April 20-24 at the LSU Tennis Complex.
Competition begins at 10 a.m. Wednesday with the opening round of the tournament featuring Alabama against Missouri and Tennessee against Ole Miss. Admission to the all 13 matches is free. Visit LSUsports.net/16SECWT for updated scores and more information on the tournament.
The 18th-ranked Lady Tigers (17-10 overall, 6-7 SEC) earned the eight seed and will take on ninth-seeded Kentucky at 2 p.m. Thursday. The winner will move on to face top-seeded Florida at 2 p.m. Friday.
Earlier this season, LSU defeated the Wildcats, 4-3, in Lexington. With the score knotted up at 3-3 overall, senior Skylar Kuykendall clinched the match 6-4, 5-7, 7-5.
