NAPA, Calif. – The LSU women’s golf team looks to finish the regular season on a positive note as it travels to a new location for the third annual Silverado Showdown hosted by the University of Oregon and the University of Colorado.
The event tees at 9:45 a.m. for the first of three days of play with tee times on Sunday and Monday and a final shotgun round on Tuesday at 10 a.m. CT at the Silverado Resort North Course. LSU will play in the second wave of the day starting on hole No.1 with co-host Oregon and Louisville.
Joining the Tigers, Louisville and the two hosts schools in the field of 18 are: California, Gonzaga, Long Beach State, Minnesota, Nebraska, New Mexico, Ohio State, Pepperdine, San Diego State, San Francisco, San Jose State, Stanford, UC Davis and Wisconsin.
“This will be a nice way to finish the regulars season and hopefully give us some forward momentum for the SEC Championships,” said LSU Coach Karen Bahnsen. “The weather is expected to be good with a little wind and a strong field so we are looking forward to the challenge.”
LSU will go with seniors Elise Bradley and Nadine Dreher, freshmen Kathleen Gallagher and Marina Hedlund and sophomore and Allstate Sugar Bowl champion Sydney Cavin for the tournament.
Oregon is the defending champion of the Silverado Showdown as the Ducks edged out Oregon State by one stroke a year ago to claim the title. UO shot a 299-290-300–889 over the event.
