English Awarded NACWAA and MOAA Leadership Grant

BATON ROUGE – Alicia English, LSU Assistant Manager of Ticket Operations, have been named as a recipient of a 2015 National Association of Collegiate Women Athletics Administrators (NACWAA) and Minority Opportunities Athletic Association, Inc. (MOAA) leadership education grant.

The grant will enable English to attend the MOAA Symposium at the National Association of Collegiate Directors of Athletics (NACDA) in June held in Orlando, Fla. in addition to the NACWAA National Convention from Oct. 11-13 in Tampa, Fla. English manages the day-to-day ticket operations for the LSU women’s basketball and softball programs.

“Alicia’s knowledge, enthusiasm and professionalism have had a tremendous impact on the LSU Ticket Office,” said Tim Messa, Director of Ticket Operations. “She always provides impeccable customer service to LSU’s amazing fans and invaluable guidance and leadership to the Ticket Office’s part-time staff of about 20 student workers. Alicia is a rising star in the world of collegiate athletics administration, as this great honor attests. This MOAA scholarship will help her to even further enhance her skills as a leader, an athletics administrator, and as a person. We couldn’t be more proud of Alicia.”

The NACWAA National Convention is the premier leadership summit for women working in intercollegiate athletics. Attended by athletics directors, conference commissioners, coaches, senior woman administrators and professionals from all realms of the sports industry, this annual gathering provides three days of leadership training, networking and inspiration.
