Lady Tigers Aim for Weekend Split at Missouri

COLUMBIA, Mo. — Twenty-fifth ranked LSU (15-7, 5-4 SEC) wraps up the regular season road schedule at 12 p.m. Sunday against Missouri (8-14, 0-10 SEC) at the Mizzou Tennis Center.

“Missouri is a really good team and they have a really good coach. We have to shake off what happened yesterday and regroup,” head coach Julia S. Sell said.

The Lady Tigers are coming off of a 5-2 loss at the hands of Arkansas. Skylar Kuykendall and Abby Owens came away with both singles wins and the doubles win. The duo defeated Makenzie Craft and Nicole Breaux on court two, 8-4.

Kuykendall extended her winning streak to nine matches on Friday with a 7-2, 7-5 win on court two. The junior out of Jasper, Alabama is 20-3 and 8-2 in conference play for the season.

Owens made quick work of Craft on court three for LSU with the 6-3, 6-3 victory. The sophomore improved to 15-5 and 6-3 in the SEC.

This marks just the third time that Missouri and LSU have faced off against each other. LSU is 2-0 against Mizzou, with 6-1 wins coming in both 2013 and 2014.
