Lady Tigers Tennis 42nd in Final ITA Poll

BATON ROUGE – The LSU women’s tennis team finished the season ranked No. 42 as released by the ITA on Tuesday.

This ranking follows a season of accomplishments under second-year head coach Julia S. Sell. The Lady Tigers earned a berth in the NCAA Division I Women’s Tennis Tournament for the first time since 2012 after defeating seven ranked opponents on the season. These seven victories marks the most ranked wins the Lady Tigers have earned since garnering 11 in 2009.

LSU, who finished the season with a 14-14 overall record after falling 4-1 to Pepperdine in the NCAA Tournament, was previously ranked No. 40.

The Lady Tigers return five players to the roster next season. Noel Scott, Ella Taylor, Joana Vale Costa, Skylar Holloway and Abigail Owens will be joined by newcomers Amanda Atanasson and Madara Straume.
